Video production for live theatre
I've been working in Video Production since 1985 in a number of different roles.
I started as a video editor and occaisonal director in a corporate video company, and since then I have done most production roles - camera, lighting, directing, producing, and sound recording.
I have done work integrating video into live theatre, notably in Stephen Lowe's "Glamour" at the Nottingham Playhouse, and with Tangere Arts and their production "I'm No Hero"
I've also done a lot of training in a variety of different settings such as universities, workshops, arts centres, and once for a short while in a prison. I have been a course leader and created and delivered workshops and training..
Recent life experiences have led me to start training as a Hypnotherapist.
I'm interested in Russian language, playing music, writing, and acting.
I have an M.A. in "Creative Collaboration".
I studied Art and Drama both at "A" level and as a degree.
I have been CRB checked.
I have public liability cover.
I am able to provide customised training. For example, if you have just finished your degree or GCSE course and would like to explore particular questions, or wish to consolidate knowledge I can design a course for you.
Customised training is your chance to get answers to your specifc questions.
Price on application. (It depends on what you want and how many of you there are)

This short film was made on a one day training course
"The course consisted of some expert training in camera operating for film and on lighting which I thought was excellent"
"We needed training in camera work and booked RFK for a one day course which took place in the relaxed surroundings of his home. Theoretical aspects were explained before we made a short film in the afternoon! Actors, camera, lights, scripts, location were provided, even lunch was supplied. The film was edited later and distributed to all on the one day course a few days later. Well recommended, cost-effective, relaxed yet very proferssional. Does what it says on the tin."

Roger Knott-Fayle
465 Valley Road, Basford,
Nottingham, NG5 1HZ
Roger Knott Fayle's creativity has impressed me, amazed me and amused me - often in the same moment. His originality and inventiveness is often invested with his wit and wry humour and this goes to make his work both an enlightening experience and a joy. As a human being he's also a top bloke. Graham Lester George
Roger is an excellent video camera operator, taking any brief and making it into inventive and beautiful moving images. He is a pleasure to work with, and always gels the crew around him. After more than ten years of hiring Roger I look forward to the opportunity to work with him again in the future. David Woodhead
I have worked with Roger on many different projects, and it is always a delight. Roger's skills and creativity are extensive, whether, it's filming, lighting, writing, composition of music, editing - Roger is able to provide, to the highest standard, just what the project needs. He was invaluable in the team that created "I'm No Hero" - an innovative and exciting multi media production. Ava Hunt
I have had great respect for Roger's in depth knowledge of all things interesting and usually a little mind boggling, since he first taught me at Intermedia film and television. He is incredibly creative, enthusiastic and believes whole heartedly in what he produces. Ben Wigley
Roger Knott Fayle is one of the most creative and motivating people i have ever met or will expect to meet. Roger always comes up with a way of getting you to love the things you may otherwise hate . he can turn an idea or task on its head and make you wonder. I was trained by Roger in Media production and enjoyed every moment while coming away with bags of practical and technical skills that set me in in my carear Television and in my every day life. Iain Grey
Roger is charming and talented. He sensitively filmed a course we ran called Communication With Impact, then edited the footage into brilliant "before" and "after" segments, which blew us away and will remain extremely useful to those who took part. I can't wait to work with him again. Neil Mullarkey

Performance
This is a selection of recent video projects I've worked on, mostly doing camera and lighting. All with different aims and audiences.
Seven Minutes
This is a cut-down version of a piece of video art commissioned by Broadway Media Centre and cinema in Nottingham. It was designed for projection in a bar and is on a continuos loop. It's made by Roger Knott-Fayle, using a pinhole camera and a video camera recording the same scenes at the same time. People step out of the video frame and disappear into another invisible dimension.
I'm No Hero
Tangere Arts presents "I'm no Hero" a new multi-media docu-drama theatre performance for young people and adult audiences touring in January 2009 to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.
National Poetry Day 2010
A visual interpretation of the poem 'Room Inside' written by Philip Gross. The project is part of National Poetry Day and has been a collaboration between Fox Create and Broadway Media Centre Nottingham. The project has been supported by the Arts Council England.
New Year - Six By Seven
Music video commissioned by Mantra, lead single off the album 'The Closer You Get' (2000).
The band were on the road in Germany at the time of shooting so appear only as cameos on the TV monitor you see in a few shots.
Achieved 'most played video' for a non-playlist band on MTV Europe summer 2000.
Shooting was super16mm by Roger Knott-Fayle, sadly the only copy we can currently find is this 4:3LB version of the 16:9 master.
